Luzon Bound

(Kiltepan View, Sagada)

Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR)

Philippines is a tropical country. The climate is mostly sunny but if you want to experience wearing jacket the whole day and feel the cool breeze, come and visit the cities of Cordillera Administrative Region or CAR. If your seeking for ultimate adventure, CAR is a perfect place to be.First stop, visit Baguio city known as the "The Summer Capital of the Philippines". There are so much wonderful places to visit in Baguio city. They Burnham Park; a park that has a big man-made in the center and you will enjoy by riding small boats on the lake. You can also visit Philippine Military Academy or PMA and see some military drills. Baguio city is famous in their fresh stawberries. You can pick some strawberries and enjoy eating them. I admire Baguio city because I can see that the city is environmental friendly. Fresh flowers were planted in the streets and they are refreshing to see.

Second stop, visit Sagada. It is a small town but blessed in so wonderful natural sceneries. Don't miss to explore Sumaguing cave. The cave is so big. In visiting this cave, you can really say that "this is the real extreme adventure!". When you enter the cave, it is like your climbing a mountain. It is not a usual cave that it has a straight path, in Sumaguing cave, the path is steep and slippery. The cave has 3 parts: The descent, Easy part and Hard part. The descent part, you will pass through some slippery rocks and there were instances the tour guide will be a "human ladder". For the easy part, dipping pools is waiting for you. The water is freezing cold. You can take a dip and be careful because some parts is deep. For the hard part, the path is so difficult to pass. To go out in the cave, you need to pass again the previous path.

Did you ever see a sea of clouds? Here in Kiltepan View, still in Sagada, you will see it in actual. The view is breathtaking and it is like your in heaven. To see this sea of clouds view, you need to wake up early as 4:00 am. You will see how the sun rise.

For the last stop, visit Banaue Rice Terraces located at Banaue, Ifugao. The rice terraces were so majestic and breathtaking. You can really see how Igorots give effort in making this stair-like rice fields. By looking Banaue Rice Terraces, you can say how hardworking Igorots are. To have a close experience in this rice terraces, you need to go down the very steep mountain. When you reach the bottom part, there are lodges waiting for you. The lodges were the traditional house of the Igorots and you can experience staying in their traditional house. You can even go more down so you will really experience crossing and climbing Banaue Rice Terraces. Even though it was tiresome, but it is worth it!

Visayas Bound

(Magellan's Cross)

Cebu City (Central Visayas)

Cebu city is a wonderful place to unwind and relax from stress. It is not called The Queen city of the South for nothing. This city is rich with beautiful places to go. Cebu city is filled with historical sites like the Magellan's Cross;  a Christian cross was planted by Ferdinand Magellan in April 14, 1521 when he baptised the first Christian Filipinos, RajahHumabon and Queen Juana and about 400 followers into the Catholic faith. On the ceiling of the kiosk, there are paintings on what happened when Spaniards baptised Christian Filipinos. You will also enjoy the Taoist temple. It feels like your in China because of the tradition Chinese temple. My favorite part in visiting Cebu city is I am able to saw the largest fish in the sea, the whale shark with my own eyes. You will have close encounter with them and you can even swim with them. Even though they're so huge, you will not feel scared since they are harmless. Cebu city is also known for their tasty Lechon (Roasted pig). You need to taste the crispiness of the skin and the juicy meat of it. In exploring Philippines, Cebu city should be included in your list.

Mindanao Bound

Island Garden City of Samal (Davao del Norte,)

Samal island is a wonderful place to go and a nice place to escape the from the hustle and bustle of the city.As you can see, sunsets are best viewed in here. The sea water in here is warm and very relaxing. During morning, the water subsides. It is very shallow and the water will get deep during evenings. For me, it is best to come in Samal island in evening but don't worry because barges are 24/7. The fare is very cheap and very affordable. It only cost 10 pesos (0.20019 US dollar) if you don't bring a car. There are different beach resorts that is very cheap but still offer comfort. Many beach resorts offers water activities like banana boats, giants slides and many more. You will also enjoy in visiting their bat cave and to their vanishing island. You will surely enjoy and never regret in going to Samal island.
